Chris Kamler will be speaking to students and faculty about his book, “The Silence, The Series, & The Season of Sungwoo” this Friday, April 9 from 11:00-12:30.
Kamler will be discussing with students the writing process, fandom, the Royals and the incredible playoff run the Royals put together last season.
Students are invited to come to the Library for this free talk. Kamler will also be donating books to the library for general circulation as well as will have copies on hand for sale. There is no charge if you’d also like the author to sign them.
The event is also open to the public if you’d like to stop by and have your lunch at the library!
Kamler is a graduate of North Kansas City High School, Class of 1990.
If you can’t make it out to the event, you can still get your copy of the book at the links on kamlerbook.com, Amazon.com or KC Area Rally House stores.
Reporter Matt Evans went really above and beyond in his coverage of the book, going back into the archives for historical footage from August and October as well as setting up an Easter Skype with Kamler and Lee Sungwoo.
If you missed it, here’s Kamler talking about The Silence, The Series, & The Season of Sungwoo.
Two chances to pick up a copy of the book and get it signed by the author!

Right on the square, Kamler will be there along with Landmark editor Ivan Foley with games, prizes and shenanigans.

Sungwoo wouldn’t have made it to Kansas City without you. I wouldn’t have written this book without Sungwoo and it wouldn’t have been made without all your generous support and Kickstarter donations.
I want to have a book launch party for all of you who helped with Sungwoo’s visits and those who want to learn about what we were able to accomplish. And I want to buy the first couple rounds.
Please come out Friday night, March 13 to celebrate the launch of this book. If you have preordered or ordered through Kickstarter, I’ll have your books there for pickup. If you want to buy a book, I’ll have them there as well. If you just want to have a drink and watch some basketball, that’s cool too!
See you there!
